10 Reasons to get up in the morning and sell!

10 - Dollars
9 - Yen
8 - Pounds
7 - Marks
6 - Francs
5 - Lira
4 - Euros
3 - Money
2 - More Money
1 - The most money you can make!- Are you getting the picture? If you aren't I'd get out of sales.

What other profession allows you to make as much as you want! Money is the root of all evil without a doubt. We've seen that with the current crisis in banking, but it also helps pay for your kid's school, your car, your house, etc.

Money isn't corrupt. People are. So get your ass out of bed everyday and go make some money for yourself, for your family, and for your company.

PS: Spend it wisely please.

Top 10 "No's" from customers. What they say and what they really mean...

Being rejected is common place for sales reps.  It happens to us all the time.  We're used to people saying no, and prospects have so many different ways to say "no", that you have to be observant and read between the lines.  What they're saying and what they actually mean are two different things.  Despite the great job you did presenting your product or service there are times when you wonder why they didn't actually buy from you.  Well here is a list of the top ten ways customers can say "no" and what each phrase really means.  Enjoy:

10 - What they say - "We're gonna think about it"
What they mean - "Your presentation sucked and you suck"

9 - What they say - "I have to run this by my boss and I'm not sure what he'll say."
What they mean - "Get ready to be dumped like an ugly kid at a high school prom you loser"

8 - What they say - "This looks really good. We'll be in touch"
What they mean - "What the heck are you selling anyway?"

7 - What they say - "We really like your product but we have other vendors to meet."
What they mean - "Are you serious? Why the hell did we meet anyway? Get out of my office I have more important things to see. Like a sandwich ...is it lunchtime?"

6 - What they say - "Thanks it was a great presentation, but we're required to meet with at least 3 vendors regarding this purchase"
What they mean - "Thanks for showing up! You're number 3 on the list of 3!"

5 - What they say - "I loved everything you presented. I'll review it and call you later today."
What they mean - "I'm a two faced lying bastard who doesn't have the heart to tell you how bad you were and how much we hate your products."

4 - What they say - "We don't have the budget to spend this kind of money right now"
What they mean - "Lower the price you idiot or show me again why I should pay extra for this crap?!, or they could mean "My company's going under can you loan me some money?"

3 - What they say - "I like everything but is that the best you can do on the pricing?"
What they mean - "Hi I'm a bean counter and I'm supposed to say this so you'll knock down the price, and if you do, I'll ask for more. Get ready to drop your pants!"

2 - What they say - "Your competitor's price is at least 20% less than yours."
What they say - " I am lying my ass off to see what you're going to do"

1 - What they say - "To be honest I can't see us doing business with your company."
What they say - "You are a horrible salesperson and I'm going to take off my shoe and beat you over the head with it, now get out of my office!"

Sales can be a difficult profession , however if you work at your craft, and are able to see beyond the obvious objections, you can overcome a "no" and get to a "yes".

Good luck and have a great day selling!
